As some of you already know, I have been interested in buying a ipod touch for some time now and let's just say I have performed EXTENSIVE research. I know everything the ipod touch has to offer, inquired about the product to current owners, and considered the different price options available to me.Option 1:
Buy the ipod 8GB at Best Buy for 229.00 + tax and take it to its new home that evening.
Option 2:
Buy the ipod 8GB at the Apple store online for 229.00 + tax and wait for it to come in the mail.
Option 1 seems suitable right? Well, there are a couple unmentioned perks with option 2
***Free shipping on items over $100
***Free engraving on your new ipod touch
Yes, I had pretty much made up my mind, however, I didn't want to be too hasty and, since I ALWAYS look for a deal, I held off. Being the shrewd buyer I am, I thought of looking on EBay, honestly, I am ashamed I didn't think of that sooner.
I dashed to the computer, excited about my new idea, and after seeing "Welcome Brittany" I began my diligent search. I found a beauty. It had 10.5 hours left on the bidding and it was about $100.00. I knew it would increase but knew it couldn't hurt to "Watch the Item," so I did, set an alarm on my phone for a reminder, and went on my way!
I joyfully went on my way, while still keeping a close eye on the time. Meanwhile, I decided I should have a budget before going into the bidding war. Every veteran of EBay knows, when you get in the heat of the battle, you lose all common sense and bid to the death no matter what! I decided on 175.00, and not a penny more!
The hour came...it was time and I my little alarm was just a buzzin'! I anxiously checked for the current bid...$129.00. Hmm...this would be an intense 20 minutes, I could feel it. I sat there and began my watch...continuously clicked "refresh"...and watched the price raise continuously!
FYI: I sat their watching two bidders go back and forth and raise the price. Why is it that no one will just sit there and wait for it to get right down to the seconds??? In case you aren't an expert in EBay {I am by no means}, Please! take my advice! The way to be successful in EBay is to wait till the last several seconds and bid. This way, no one even knows you are bidding and you will snipe the item every time!
Anyway...it got down to the last 20 seconds...I clicked my max bid and WON!!! I saw the beautiful words, "Highest Bidder." The final bid was $180.00, now, I know what you are thinking..."Brittany! you went over your budget!!" Well, there is one small detail I have kept from you. Shortly after logging in, I learned I had a 20% off coupon! Therefore, I was able to bid much higher than everyone else while remaining in my budget! I'll save you the math...I paid 144.00 :) Not too shabby, I thought.
So, now I wait....impatiently. I watch for the UPS truck and prepare a home for my ipod touch.
My current status: Uploading songs :D
